KD Leonbergers

I, Anne O Sullivan, welcome you to my web site, built and designed by Jamjo Design. This web site has been developed to provide information about my two Leonbergers, Daisy and Kyla. Kadee Leonbergers (K for Kyla and D for Daisy) is not a "kennels" as I'm not a breeder.

Our dogs are much loved and protected members of our family.

Avonlee house sits in a lovely quiet setting in the Lee Valley just 10 mins west of Cork city. Our house is just 100 feet from the river Lee where the dogs love to swim.

We have owned Leonbergers for only a short while, just over 6 years. I can't think of another breed I could love so much that I would devote so much of my time to.

Leonbergers are a loving, intelligent active breed with a great sense of fun. They make excellent all round dogs, wonderful companions, beautiful show dogs, enthusiactic characters and obedient, loyal and loving dogs.

We brought Daisy home on 19th November 2005 at just under 7 weeks of age - see her little video clip. This was the beginning of a beautiful life for her and the beginning of a hugh learning experience for me. At this stage, we already had a lovely Lab mix, called Milly, but, sadly, she was to pass away a year later.

Then on 14th August 2006, at Wyddial Park, Herts, England, Stormchaser Power of Love was born to Flame,  GB.Ch.Stormchaser Zhivago's Love (GB) and Int. Beaute Ch., Aus Ch., Ger Ch Dario Ensson Bohemia (Ger) and granny Storm and grandda Khan.

Stormchaser Power of Love was to be my second Leo.

We gave Stormchaser Power of Love, the pet name Kyla, which is an Irish name and means "beautiful" , a name so befitting.

We will always be so thankful to Kyla's breeder, Mrs Lynette Hodge, for letting us have such a precious girl and who has taught me so much about this magnificent breed.

Thank you, Lyn, for your unwavering faith in me and for your much welcomed advice and for your constant friendship.

I show Kyla but they are both very special to the family.

I'm so very proud of what Kyla has accomplished on the show scene, culminating in being the first ever Irish owned Leonberger  to become an Irish Champion at only 16 months of age, the first second generation UK Leonberger to make champion status and the first of two second generation of Stormchasers to become a champion, her many Green Stars,  Best of Breed wins,  3 CACIBs, her placing at Crufts which made her the first Irish owned Leonberger to be placed at Crufts and now being Annual Leonberger champion for 2008 making her the Top Winning Leonberger in Ireland for 2008.

What an allround amazing dog Kyla is.

I would like to finish by saying there is nothing more wonderful than owning a Leonberger as they have to be the BEST!
